Fun Reading!

Recently I've come (late) into the world of RGP (rec.gambling.poker newsgroup) and the 2+2 Forums.

I've really enjoyed learning more about some faces I've seen on TV, some of the background of the poker world, and just the general voyeuristic quality these online discussion groups can have. Lots of digging through trash to find any treasure, but it can be done.

Take for example Russ' Posts relating to his "GCA" organization (search RGP for author "newgca"). Whacky zaney stuff, most of which I don't buy, but entertaining reads, none-the-less.

And then of course it's always fun to follow the writing of Paul Phillips; a young .com-millionaire-turned-poker-pro-and-well-spoken-intelligent-guy... It's amazing how defensive, jealous and generally rude the haters can be. You can get some entertainment out of it though reading Paul's posts on the 2+2 Forums.

You'll also find words on both RGP and the 2+2 Forums written by a lot of the other TV pros whom invade our living rooms every Wed night on the WPT and the all-knowing authors of the poker books which have taught us this great game. Good stuff.
