A Little Update
Man, I really suck at this thing, keeping it updated, etc. It's not that I don't have time, it's just that I always want more to talk about. But I'm changing that now. I'm going to plan on posting once a day or at least once a week. There's enough going on in my life that this shouldn't be a problem, but anyone who knows me at all knows how lazy I am, so I suppose that plays in somewhere...
Since my last writing a few big chunks of news have transpired. Michelle and I got engaged on June 11th while we were in Vegas. No solid plans on a wedding, but we're stoked to have taken this next step, even though it feels so natural neither of us have made much of a to-do about it. We were contemplating just getting the whole thing over right there in Vegas, drive-thru style, but both wanted to share that day with all you people we care about, not a limo driver named Pablo.
The WSOP went pretty well from a monitary standpoint. The tournies we played were so-so, never really got much going in them, but I really killed the no limit cash games and ended up making a nice amount of dough throughout the weekend. We played at the new Wynn Resort which is amazing. The poker room is really nice and they're hungry for business, so a couple nights of poker got us all free buffet the next day which was outstanding. Also had a killer session at the Bellagio and their new poker room is additionally absolutely beautiful.
The next weekend Michelle set up a surprise birthday party for me which was a blast. Golfed all day on Saturday and then that night showed up for what was supposed to be "going out to dinner" and ended up being pretty big group of our friends whooping it up at some friends' house. Pictures are in the photo section if you wanna see the debauchery.
Of course to stay in the spirits of good travel taste, we were on an airplane again the following Wednesday night heading for Idaho. Michelle's neice Dusty was getting married, so we had the great opportunity to spend a nice weekend with all of her family. Great time and once again, you can see some photos in the photo section.
After returning from Idaho, we're settled in for a while. Probably spend some time up in the mountains, as we're only about an hour and a half from a gorgeous lake where we love to camp. I'm working on my golf game, although frustrating at times, I've really enjoyed getting back into golf and Michelle's playing with me quite a bit too. She's getting good!
Just about all I have to report right now. Like I said, I'll do what I can to overcome my instincts of laziness and write more in the future.
Ciao.
